ARE YOU MAD ABOUT HOCKEY? ARE YOU AGED BETWEEN 14 AND 21?
If you answered 'yes' then you should think about joining the South Youth Panel.
The South Youth Panel is a group of committed 14-21 year olds, who represent the youth of hockey in the South of England, aiding development across the region. We’re looking for enthusiastic young people keen on hockey including umpires, leaders, coaches, players, officials or supporters who would like to make a difference to hockey as they know it. We have 4/5 meetings a year as well as helping to organise and run the South Schools and Clubs Mini-hockey Championships.
As well as being on the panel looking really impressive on your CV and University applications you also get the opportunity to achieve personal and group goals and implement initiatives throughout the South.
As an applicant we would ask that you will be able to commit to:
• 18th Feb (Meetings – Surbiton HC)
• 24th & 25th April (Schools Championships - Surbiton HC)
• 1st & 2nd May (Clubs Championships - Surbiton HC)
If you would like to share your hockey experiences with other hockey like minded individuals, please email south@englandhockey.org for an application form. Application forms should be returned by 1st February 2010
AMENDING HOME AND AWAY FIXTURES
I assume that there are no major issues on Fixtures live and that you’re all getting on with things and all is going well.
As Fixture’s live administrators for your clubs you should be able to amend the time, venue and date of games yourselves. So if you have agreed a home and away fixture swap each team needs to just change the date themselves on their current home fixture to the new agreed date (usually the swapped dates).
Any problems or you don’t seem to have the correct permissions just e-mail me and I’ll sort it out when I can.
Please try keep to the current fixture dates. The slip dates are intended for cancelled games e.g. due to adverse weather or other exceptional circumstances etc. All changes are tracked by fixtures live so I’ll be able to track who has done what where if any issues arise.
Please cc me , Mel Cassel Match Day Secretary - matchdaysec@googlemail.com into the final agreed e-mail (just so I can keep up to date with what changes are being made) and in the little notes box put “h & a swapped”.
Once the season starts any issues with entering scores or scores don’t appear for any reason, or are incorrect (i.e the captain forgot to text in/ texted in the wrong result/ the result didn’t go through/ captains away etc.) Please send me an e-mail (just once!) ideally the home team, copying in the away team and any other interested parties. I’ll update fixtures live at the end of each month with things that are sent into me (rather than going onto fixtures live every time someone sends something)
Please remember in all e-mails to me to always include which Team Details and which Division you play.
If teams fail to e-mail me with scores there is nothing I can do and will not chase them until March 2010 when they will obviously be needed for promotion and demotion purposes.
